Common questions

Many questions don't need a phone call. If yours isn't here, call 1-844-428-8726.

Is there someone I can call for technical support?

Yes. Call 1-844-428-8726, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern. Our technical support team can help with installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.

Do I really need to change the oil when I install a turbo?

Yes. Oil is the most important fluid in a diesel engine and it lubricates the turbo. Old, dirty or metal-contaminated oil wears out the rotating parts fast. Your warranty depends on fresh oil at start-up.

Does my turbo come pre-lubed?

No. There may be some oil left from balancing, but it is not enough. Pre-lube the turbo before you start the engine. See the turbo startup checklist (PDF) for the full steps.

Are installation instructions included?

Yes. Every turbo ships with installation instructions in the gasket kit. Lost them? Download the installation instructions (PDF).

I think I have a warranty issue. Should I remove the turbo and send it back?

No. Call 1-844-428-8726 before you remove anything. Our technical specialists can often solve the problem without removal. Turbos removed and returned without approval aren't eligible for warranty. Read the warranty terms.

What do you need from me to order a turbo?

The part number from the turbo's ID tag is best. If you can't find or read the tag, give us the engine make and serial number. The VIN is the last resort, because the original engine may have been replaced.

The installer's most important job is finding why the old turbo failed. If the root cause isn't fixed, the new turbo can fail too. Get the failure analysis and troubleshooting matrix or the application guide sent to your inbox.
